After successfully booking a free consultation, what are the next steps?

● Upon successful appointment confirmation, a dedicated course advisor will reach out to you at your designated time, to understand your learning needs and goals, introduce optional courses,, inquire about the convenient trial lesson time, etc., and send you a Tial Lesson Guidebook.
● Your advisor will help you book a suitable trial lesson, and after the appointment is successful, the advisor will contact you again to confirm the trial lesson information with you, and confirm that you have learned how to enter your student account and how to attend the lesson; Before the trial lesson session, you are welcome to take a enrollment test, and your advisor will get the test results at the same time as you, so as to provide you with more accurate suggestions;
● Upon completion of the trial lesson, your course advisor will reach out to you to assist with any subsequent inquiries or futher requirements.

Q

What is the duration of a trial lesson? Is there a parental communication section for minor students?

● Duration of a Trail Lesson: Trial lessons typically last between 30 and 45 minutes. However, the actual duration may vary slightly, up to 5 minutes longer or shorter, depending on specific circumstances.
● Parental Presence during the Session: We encourage parents of minor students to be present during the session. This allows parents to observe the teaching style, curriculum, and classroom environment firsthand. At the conclusion of the session, the teacher will dedicate time to address questions or concerns from both the student and the parent regarding the teaching and learning process.
● Teacher's Scope of Responsibilities: Please be advised that teachers are solely responsible for instructional matters. This includes delivering the curriculum, providing guidance and feedback to students, and maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment. Teachers are not responsible for non-instructional matters such as course scheduling, promotional offers, or explanations of service policies. For inquiries related to these matters, please contact our dedicated course consultants who will be happy to assist you.

Q

Does the IEA provide placement assessment tests / diagnostic tests?

● We offer comprehensive online enrollment tests to trial users, mirroring the actual exam format and question count. These tests include full-length (98 questions) and half-length (49 questions) options, providing detailed score reports upon completion;
● Trial users can access the tests by navigating to the "Enrollment Test" section within their student accounts;
● We recommend that trial users complete the online test during their initial consultation with our course advisor. The test results will provide valuable insights into the student's current SAT level, enabling our course advisors to tailor their recommendations and futher services accordingly.

Q

Can I continue with the same teacher after becoming a paid user if I am satisfied with my trial less

●● We prioritize assigning paid students to their trial lesson teachers, provided that the student and teacher can agree on a mutually satisfactory lesson schedule, including the number of lessons per week and the weekly lesson times. If the student and teacher cannot reach an agreement, we will recommend other teachers.
●● Please note that for one-on-many classes, the specific class formation may require coordination with other students. The course advior will provide full support to help students achieve a satisfactory teacher-student pairing.
●● In fact, trial lesson teachers are randomly selected from all teachers who are available to teach during the trial lesson time slots. We do not have a policy of selecting only the best teachers to conduct trial lessons. The teaching quality of different teachers will not vary significantly due to the following reasons:
● We adhere to standardized teacher hiring criteria and training requirements, ensuring that there are no significant differences in teaching abilities among our teachers.
● All lessons utilize standardized IEA teaching materials, including textbooks and post-class assignments.
● We strictly enforce our trial period unconditional refund policy and our guarantee mechanism that allows students to file complaints and waive fees for lessons that do not meet quality standards. Student users need not worry about any significant difference in the teaching quality between their trial lesson teacher and their formal teacher.

Q

Why am I unable to log in to my account after submission of consultation appointment /registration?

Upon submitting an appointment or registration request, the system creates an initial student account for you. Since you are not required to set a password during the registration process, this initial account is inactive. When your course advisor first contacts you, she/he will provide you with the default initial password and activate your student account immediately.

Buy Class Hours

Q

What should I be aware of if I do not purchase all the class hours required for the course at once?

We recommend purchasing the same number of class hours as the number of lessons in the course you are taking all at once. If you purchase a retail hours package or an installment hours package, it means that you will need to purchase additional lessons in the middle of the course. Our system deducts one hour at the beginning of each lesson, not at the end. When your hours balance reaches 0, the student will be automatically unpaired from their current teacher, and it will be more troublesome to re-pair them. Therefore, please be sure to complete the purchase or renewal of the next installment before the last hour is deducted.

In case you have any difficulty understanding the above explanation, we would like to provide the example scenario below:

● A student chooses a course with 30 lessons and chooses to purchase 10 class hours each time. Then, the student should complete the renewal of the lesson package before the start of the 10th lesson. If the student does not renew the class hours after the 10th lesson and before the start of the 11th lesson, it will cause unnecessary trouble. Because the IEA system will deduct the last class hour from the student's hours account at the start of the 10th lesson, and unpair the student from the teacher-student relationship at the end of the 10th lesson. If the student wants to continue to follow the previous teacher and progress according to the previous schedule after renewing the fee, she/he will have to re-pair with the teacher like a new student. This situation will not only cause unnecessary operational steps, but also face the risk that the teacher has already accepted other teaching tasks and cannot be re-paired with the student.

Q

Can I get a refund if I still have remaining class hours after completing the course?

Yes. A refund for the remaining class hours will be issued based on the average price per hour at the user's original purchase price.

Q

Can delinquent installment payments damage my credit standing?

No, it will not. Our 0-interest installment payment plans are offered directly by IEA without the involvement of any third-party financial institutions. Therefore, they will not affect your credit history.

Tutoring Services

Q

Is there a limit to complaints for course dissatisfaction refunds? How is fairness ensured?

● Unlimited Complaints for Genuine Concerns: For genuine concerns about course quality, there is no limit to the number of complaints a user can submit. Upon receiving a complaint regarding a teacher's performance, the platform will conduct a thorough manual review of the course recording. If the complaint is deemed valid and there is no evidence of malicious intent, the class hour for this lesson will be returned to user's hours account. In such cases, there will be no restrictions on the number of complaints a user can file.
● Addressing Malicious Complaints: In cases of malicious complaints or complaints, IEA will reject the user's complaint. If a user accumulates three rejected complaints within the same calendar year, she/he will be barred from submitting further complaints for the remainder of that year. However, her/his complaint privilege will be automatically reinstated in the following calendar year.
● Ensuring Fairness: Users need not have any concerns about our fairness. For complaints deemed valid, the corresponding lesson session will not be credited to the teacher's compensation. IEA has no incentive to compromise fairness principles for the sake of reducing payroll costs.

Q

In case of dissatisfaction, is an adjustment of teacher or schedule possible??

To minimize the likelihood of students being assigned to unsuitable teachers or class schedules, ample freedom is granted during the enrollment process to select preferred teachers and acceptable class times. For unavoidable mid-course adjustments due to extenuating circumstances, students may contact course advisors for assistance in changing teachers or class schedules.

Q

Does the platform provide lesson session replays?

The platform retains the classroom playback of each course for 30 days.

Others

Q

How do I check if my computer and network meet the class requirements?

● After logging into your student account, click Equipment Check and the system will guide you through the equipment check.
● After the first check, if you have not changed your equipment, you do not need to check it before each lesson session.

Q

Can I use mobile devices such as a smart phone or an iPad to attend classes?

●● IvyExpert supports mobile devices for class attendance. To access the classroom using the client app, first log in to your student account through the mobile browser app. When the lesson session starts, click the "Enter" button on the "Upcoming Lessons" page. The page will then redirect to the app activation guide. Click the "Enter Classroom" button on the guide to activate the app and automatically join the class. First-time users can download the online class app by following the on-screen instructions.
●● However, using mobile devices, especially those with small screens, for class attendance should only be considered a contingency measure for occasional special circumstances. We strongly recommend using a PC or laptop with a larger screen size and a web browser instead of a mobile device app for regular class attendance.
● Limited Classroom Functionality: The app classroom interface is only a basic platform provided by the classroom technology provider. It does not support IvyExpert's customizable classroom features, such as teacher information, course information, and one-click re-entry into the classroom, which can negatively impact the overall learning experience;
● Small Screen Limitations: Mobile devices typically have small screens, making it difficult to clearly view presentation slides, text, and images, potentially hindering comprehension and affecting overall learning quality. This can be particularly detrimental to the vision health of young learners;
● Improper Posture Risks: Using mobile devices for class attendance can encourage improper posture during lessons, which could pose risks to the spinal development of young learners.

Q

Does student account support using the user's local time?

Local Time Zone Support: Student accounts allow for the customization of time zones. Student users can select their local time on the "Personal Settings" page. This ensures that lesson times displayed within the account and email notifications received from us are all displayed in your local time.
